The Waterford Graded School Board the board thanked outgoing member Blaine Nicholls for his service to the School District and the community and swore in new members Dawn Bleimehl and re-elected member Robert Kastengren at its monthly meeting April 22.
The board also elected new officers and made its annual committee appointments.
In a move that surprised some residents in the audience, Dan Jensen nominated board member Robert Kastengren for board president. Jensen had been serving in the role. The board voted unanimously in favor and Jensen immediately handed the gavel over to Kastengren and exchanged seats with him so Kastengren could chair the meeting.
Also elected Monday were Jensen as vice president, Paul Beyerl as treasurer, Doug Schwartz as secretary and Bleimehl was named director.

Personnel and Finance: Jensen, chairman; Beyerl, second chair; Schwartz, alternate
Policy and Curriculum: Beyerl, chairman; Bleimehl, second chair; Kastengren
Building and Grounds: Schwartz, chairman; Beyerl, second chair; Jensen
Technology: Jensen, chairman; Beyerl, second chair
Transportation: Schwartz, chairman; Bleimehl, second chair; Kastengren
Recreation: Kastengren, chairman; Bleimehl, second chair
