Downtown business owners in the Village of Waterford will get a first-hand look at how to increase sales by enhancing store layout, design, interior décor and merchandising during free, one-on-one consultations offered on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Hosted by Absolutely Waterford, the village’s Main Street organization, award-winning retail professional Lyn Falk will provide 45-minute consultations to businesses on a first-come, first-serve basis.
A true advocate for Main Street revitalization, Falk has been serving as a consultant for the National Main Street Center since 1995. She is the president of Retailworks. Inc., a Milwaukee-based design firm and retail resource center. She has taught at University of Wisconsin, and published works focusing on successful retail techniques.
According to Falk, businesses that have a strong identity and design that appeals to their market’s expectations stand out from the competition.
She advises, “Never underestimate the power of a well-designed display.”
With her help, business owners will learn how to put attention-getting and inspirational window displays together and maximize on merchandising. Her visit will also focus on stock levels, fixture designs, product positioning and composition, signage and illumination, among other areas.
“Every business in downtown Waterford can benefit from the one-on-one consults provided by Ms. Falk,” said Tina Chitwood, Absolutely Waterford’s special projects coordinator.
“Her industry expertise will assist you in putting together window displays and interior merchandise displays that will stop traffic. Food and professional service business owners should also consider taking advantage of these consults to enhance the impact of the design of your interior layout and exterior presence of your business.”
Consult times will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. To reserve a time, call Chitwood at (262) 898-7422 or at [email protected].
