The Riverport Chorus will host its ninth annual Diva Quest competition Saturday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. at Waterford Union High School.
The annual scholarship event has 10 finalists, who will perform a solo and with the chorus. The first-place scholarship is $1,000, while second is $500 and third $250. Fourth and fifth receive $100.
The winners are determined by four judges (each worth 20 percent of the score) and audience vote (worth 20 percent).
This year’s finalists include Wilmot Union High School’s as well as . Brewer was fourth runner-up last year, and McClain a finalist.
The rest of the field is Savana Schraeder (Waterford); Abby Shreve, Marissa Lake and Samantha Pinchard (Shoreland Lutheran); Adia Fuller and Becca Brewer (Wilmot); Jackie McClain (Westosha Central ); Ashley (Muller (Carmel Catholic, Ill.), Jamie Kunath (Bradford) and Julia Barrios (Burlington).
The event is sponsored by Runzheimer International and Thrivent. Tickets are $17 in advance (from Riverport), $20 at the door and $12 for children 12 or younger.
Doors for the event open at 5:30 p.m.
