Darlene G. “Dar” Holtdorf (Squires), 61, Union Grove, died Sept. 25, 2011, surrounded by her family at All Saints Medical Center. She was born Jan. 31, 1950, to the late Robert and Evelyn (Miller) Squires. She lived her entire life in Union Grove.
She married her best friend, Ronald L. Holtdorf on July 11, 1992, at Union Grove Congregational Church.
She worked for more than 30 years as office manager for Bardon Rubber and later for Grove Gear. She was an active member of the UG Congregational Church. She was involved with car clubs including Datona Superbird Club and Wisconsin Mopar Club. She made creative memories by scrapbooking. In years past she enjoyed shooting pool, pitching horseshoes, and participating in bowling leagues. She was an excellent cook and she immensely enjoyed feeding and entertaining her family. Her grandchildren were a major part of her life and she loved spending time with them.
Survivors include her husband; son, Steven (Mari Anne) Squires; grandchildren, Noah, Maggie, and Wesley Squires; her brothers, Greg (Janie) Squires, Robert (Julia) Squires, Randall (Deanna) Squires, Jeffrey (Dawn) Squires, and Donald Squires; sisters, Michele (Curt) Brohmer, and Denise Hunter; her brother-in-law, Lynn (Karen) Holtdorf; and sister-in-law, Anita (Al) Atkins.
Visitation is Friday, Sept. 30, from 4-8 p.m., at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home. 620 15th Ave., Union Grove, and again on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10-11 a.m., at Union Grove Congregational Church with a Memorial Service. at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow at Union Grove Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated to help with medical bills.
