Lucille A. Lois, 87, Burlington, died Dec. 10, 2011, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was born April 3, 1924, in Burlington, to the late John and Clara (Richter) Tenhagen. She was a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School.
On Sept. 8, 1945, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Burlington, she married Andrew B. Lois. Together they made their home in Burlington. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 2004.
She was a homemaker, a 4-H leader, a member of the Farm Bureau as well as a member of the Kenosha County Homemakers. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the choir and had been a previous member of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting, her flower gardens, bowling, golfing, playing cards, and dancing, especially to polka music. Most of all she loved to spend time with family.
Survivors include her children, Andrew J. (Debra) Lois, Gary (Mary Beth) Lois, Larry (Suzanne) Lois, LuAnn (Kevin) Giles; grandchildren, Kyle, Julie (Dan), Megan (Scott), Faith, Kasey, Clayton, Sarah and Ashley; great-grandsons, Chase, Currant and Griffin; brother, Ray (Gloria) Tenhagen; sister, Rosemary Roanhaus; and brother-in-law, Don Schmidt.
She was further preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Schmidt; brother, Robert (Betty) Tenhagen; and brother-in-law, Art Roanhaus.
Visitation is Friday, Dec. 16, from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 6 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 17, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 6301 344th Ave., New Munster. The Rev. Tom Biersack will officiate with Deacon Stan Lowe concelebrating. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society are suggested.
