Walter L. Pierce Jr., 79, Burlington, died Nov. 6, 2011, at his residence. He was born May 15, 1932, in Binghamton, N.Y., to the late Walter L. and Mildred M. (McCally) Pierce.
He attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Air Force Cadet Program.
On March 27, 1965, in Akron, Ohio, he married Margaret M. Efland. Together they made their home in Burlington.
He was a sales representative for several different women’s apparel firms throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. He loved cars and enjoyed watching NASCAR, IRL and Formula 1 racing.
Survivors include his loving wife; sons, Jeffrey A. Pierce, Redwood City, Calif., Philip S. Pierce, Waterford; grandchildren, Lauren S. Pierce, Aidan B. Pierce and Landon C. Pierce, all of Redwood City, and Leslie E. Pierce and Preston L. Pierce, both Waterford.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is assisting the family.
