Warren Chas. Holloway, 81, Paris Township, died Dec. 21, 2011, at his home in the presence of his loving family. He was born Sept. 10, 1930, to the late Charles and Dorothy (Gunter) Holloway in Paris Township. He was a 1948 graduate of Union Grove Union High School and he graduated in 1950 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Farm Short Course.
He married Maris Oelstrom on June 27, 1964 and together they raised four children. He was a lifelong farmer and resident of Paris Township where he became involved in local politics and served his community in many ways. He is a former Paris Township supervisor and town chairman. He served as secretary of the Paris Mutual Fire Insurance Company and was a charter member of the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary. He served as president of the Paris Corners Cemetery, and was a Farm Bureau member. As a member of the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International he went on several missions trips to Mexico. He was an active member of the Union Grove Baptist Church serving as a deacon for the congregation and participating in the church choir. He was a 4-H leader for many years. His extra curricular activities included singing in the Snap-On Tools Corporation Male Chorus and playing brass instruments including the baritone, tuba, and trumpet in the Bristol Band. He loved to travel and enjoyed taking pictures. He was trained as a Master Gardener and had acres of vegetables and many flower beds on the farm to show for it. For years, he had a roadside stand where he sold homegrown produce. He was known for his gentle, kind, generous, and humorous spirit. He was an avid listener of Rush Limbaugh.
Survivors include his wife, Maris; children, Dean Warren Holloway, Union Grove, Van (Janell) Holloway, Xenia, Ohio, Camille (Jon) Schuette, Gig Harbor, Wash., and Thile (David) Kreider, Manheim, Pa.; grandchildren, Jacob Charles, Jared, Jason, and Jesse Holloway, all Ohio, Adam and Ethan Schuette, both Washington, Eric Warren and Gretchen Kreider, Pennsylvania, and brother-in-law, Walter Everett, Union Grove.
He was further preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Everett.
Visitation and funeral services were Dec. 24 at the Union Grove Baptist Church. The Revs. Jonathan Misirian and George Schlagel officiated. Private burial was in Paris Corners Cemetery. Miller-Reesman Funeral Home, Union Grove, assisted the family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jim Simonds and staff for the care and concern shown for Warren over the years. They would also like to thank Hospice Alliance for their care of Warren.
