DENNIS DELORIA
Dennis ‘Denny’ DeLoria, 71, Kenosha, died April 18, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Kenosha on Dec. 15, 1940, to the late Alvin and Lillian (Babros) DeLoria.
He was in the first graduating class of St. Joseph High School. He also attended the UW Extension in Kenosha.
After a 33 year relationship, on June 18, 2011, in one of his favorite travel destinations, Las Vegas, he married Jackie (Buzza) Hill.
He was employed with Gordon Auto Parts in Kenosha for 31 years until he became owner and operator of D&M Supply Co. in 1990. Currently, he and his wife, Jackie own Denny’s Sports Den on Washington Road in Kenosha.
He will always be remembered for his love and talent of local and national sports. He was honored to have a tryout with the 1959 Milwaukee Braves. He also played on several All World softball teams. He played softball for both Tirabassi and Finney’s, and baseball for the Kenosha Kings slow pitch softball team. Proudly, he had played on 11 city championship teams. He excelled in basketball and played for Finney’s city league team for many years. He was also a 50 year member of the Monday night Buratti’s golf league.
In addition to Las Vegas, he enjoyed his trips to New Orleans, Florida and Hawaii.
He will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Jackie; children, Denise DeLoria of Burlington, Jay DeLoria of Kenosha, and Alan (Michelle) DeLoria of Pleasant Prairie; stepchildren, Todd (Heidi) Hill of Shelbyville, Ky., Mickey Sluga of Kenosha, and Lori (Jimmy) Greco of Kenosha; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Don) O’Brien; nephews and niece; his stepmother, Alice DeLoria; and many cousins. He will forever be remembered and missed by his best friend, Jerry Rasmussen.
Funeral services were April 22, at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, Kenosha. Private inurnment was in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Well-wishers can visit www.piasecki-althaus.com.
Sorry to hear about Denny’s passing, but he’s in a much better place. I know Mike Madsen will miss him. You & your family are in our prayers Denise.
