Audrey J. Schinke, 85, of Lyons, died Feb. 16, 2012, at her home with loving family by her side. She was born in Elkhorn on June 10, 1926. She had spent her early life in the Lake Como area.
On Jan. 23, 1945, she married Howard Schinke who preceded her in death on April 2, 1988.
She was a homemaker most of her life and for a short time worked as a secretary for her husband’s septic cleaning company. In Elkhorn she visited the senior center and volunteered at V.I.P. Services. She enjoyed collecting dolls, knitting and crocheting and any type of crafting. She loved the companionship of her two cats and spending time on the front porch.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Linda (Joseph) Eisenbart, Dorothy (Frank) Meyer Diane (Lee) Welker; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her dear “Grandma Grey.”
Visitation is Monday, Feb. 20, from 1-2:15 p.m., with services at 2:30 p.m., at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St., Waterford. Burial follows services in Hudson Cemetery.
