Brett Reed, 40, formerly Hastings, Neb., died Nov. 19, 2012, in Wauwatosa.
He was born in Hastings, to Bill and Jackie (Barth) Reed on Dec. 15, 1971. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1990. He then went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 1995 with a degree in Actuarial Science. After college he worked as an actuary for Price Waterhouse Coopers in Chicago. He married Beth Stowell in Norway, on Nov. 17, 2001.
At the time of his death, he was employed by Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company in Milwaukee.
Survivors include his wife, Oak Creek; parents, Jackie Reed, Hastings; Bill and Betty Reed, Clay Center; grandfather, Richard Barth, Hastings; siblings, Raquel (Larry) Husted, and Ryan DeBoer, both Hastings; nephew, Jackson Husted, Hastings; aunt and uncle, Rich and Patty Kroger, Omaha; aunt, Jan Hesterwerth, Omaha; cousins, Jeff Kroger, Elkhorn; Robyn Zeplin, Shelly McGee and Chris Vipond, all Omaha; many friends and beloved dog, Mabel.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lillian Barth; Melvin and Mary Reed; and uncle, Jerry Hesterwerth.
Services were Nov. 25, at Krause Funeral Home, New Berlin. An additional memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date in Hastings.
