Chester Platner, 93, Burlington, died Feb. 10, 2012, at Arbor View Communities.
He was born on July 27, 1918, in Mukwonago to the late Chestley and Gertrude (Beilfuss) Platner.
He spent his early life and received his education in Mukwonago. He was a lifelong dedicated farmer and enjoyed spending time cultivating and caring for his garden. He was a hard worker and loved sharing anything he had especially his vegetables with others. He had a deep love for John Deere tractors, and enjoyed sitting down with others and telling them about his tractors and days on the farm. He also enjoyed watching sports especially the Milwaukee Brewers who he was always cheering on to a victory. He was a greatly loved man and meant a tremendous amount to many people.
Survivors include his cousin, Norman Jacobson, Mundelein Ill.; and his niece, Cherril Tulogeski, Waukesha.
The family and friends of Chester would like to express a sincere thank you to the Arbor View Staff for the wonderful care and compassion they showed and gave to Chester within his last four years of life. Also, they would like to thank Odyssey Hospice for the care he received from them.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Arbor View Communities, 34201 Arbor Lane, Burlington, at 10 a.m. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is assisting the family.
