Clayton F. Weis, 63, of Burlington, died Sept. 28, 2012, following a farm accident. He was born on Dec. 17, 1948, in Burlington, to the late Francis and Lunetta (nee Daniels) Weis.
He was a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of Burlington High School.
He owned and operated Weis Brothers Farm with his brother Russell. He was a farmer his entire life, and loved every minute of it. On the side, he worked for Thomas Bus Company. Before buying the farm, he worked for Bob Fox Construction.
He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling. He loved Burlington Catholic Central sports. According to his family, the most important thing to Clayton was spending time with his children and granddaughter.
Survivors include his children; Kelly (Chad) Ruppel, Chicago, Eric, Denver, Crystal (Mac) Weis-Cook. Portland, Ore., and Patrick, Milwaukee; granddaughter, Paige Ruppel; siblings, Dan (Judy), Roger (Kay), Russell (Debbie), LuAnn (Joe) Warren and Margaret (Paul) Daniels; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind special friends, Boni Weis and Jeri Lawrence.
He was further preceded in death by his grandparents, and a brother, Jerry.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 440 Kendall St., Burlington. Mass will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Amann officiating. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials to St. Charles Catholic Church or to the Burlington Catholic Central Athletic Association are suggested.
