George A. Baumeister, 84, Burlington, died peacefully at Waterford Senior Living on Oct. 4, 2012.
He was born on the family farm in the Town of Rochester on Dec. 18, 1927, to the late Charles and Anna (Kipp) Baumeister. He attended St. Thomas Grade School and was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
He lived and farmed his entire life on the family farm. There he enjoyed the simple things in life like ice cream, brats and his beloved dog Kody.
Survivors include his brother, Augie Baumeister and sister-in-law, Rose Baumeister; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by brothers, Ray, Frank, Al, John and William, and sisters, Mary and Alice.
A memorial gathering is Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 5-6 p.m., with Mass at 6 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford. Private family inurnment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is assisting the family. A huge thanks to the entire staff at Waterford Senior Living and Gentiva Hospice for making George comfortable.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
