Ida Mary Miller, 79, Wind Lake, died peacefully on her farm with family by her side on April 4, 2012.
She was born in Palmyra, on July 26, 1932, to the late Leslie and Olga (Raudwer) Stockman. Her family moved to Merrill, where she had graduated high school. She went to nursing school to become a CNA.
On Sept. 1, 1951, she married Robert J. “Bob” Miller in the Catholic Church of Gesu. They lived in Milwaukee, New Berlin, and West Allis and in 1974 moved to the farm in Wind Lake. She taught Catechism classes in West Allis. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where she was a Holy Sewer helping sew Vestments.
She enjoyed spending her Friday nights assisting with the church’s fish fry. She volunteered many hours helping others at Careers Industries in Burlington. She especially loved her farm where she spent much time with her dog Bernie, her Palomino horse Tiny, and all her favorite farm animals.
She was a loving wife and mother and possessed a great sense of humor, even when in pain.
Survivors include her husband, Wind Lake; children, Harley Miller, Nancy Solin, Judy (Bill) Basham, Susie Miller; grandchildren, Shane Taylor, Cindy Miller, Samantha Boneck, Elizabeth Suwyn, Nathan Basham, Katie Basham and Daniel Gawrysiak; great-grandchildren, Natalie Rivera and Jaden Rogers; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her sons, Robert and Donald Miller.
Visitation is April 10, from 9-10:45 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 307 S. First St., Waterford. Mealy Funeral Home, Inc., Waterford, is assisting the family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials to either Countryside Humane Society in Racine or Careers Industries in Burlington would be appreciated.
