Isabelle I. Johnson, 80, Union Grove, died Nov. 13, 2012, at Oakridge Care Center. She was born Oct. 15, 1932, to the late Antone and Idella (Crane) Jensen in Burlington. She spent her early life in the Burlington and New Munster area. She then resided in Kenosha before moving to Florida. She lived the past seven years in Union Grove.
She was a very social person who loved entertaining and visiting with her friends and family. She was especially good at cooking and preparing for parties. She loved to dance and enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars. In 2006 Isabelle went on her, once in a lifetime cruise, and enjoyed every minute of it.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann (George) Engelhardt; grandchildren, Isabelle A. Johnson and Jacqueline M. Engelhardt; close friend Clifford I. Garski; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her son, Antone I. Garski; brother, Everett Jensen; sisters, Adeline Remer and Beatrice Nagel.
A memorial service is Monday Nov. 19, at 10 a.m., at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home, 908 11th Ave., Union Grove. The Rev. James Keuch will officiate. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Isabelle’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Oakridge Care Center and Vitas Hospice.
The family has suggested memorials for Isabelle be made to the American Cancer Society.
