Jacqueline R. Kuchenbecker, 75, Burlington, died July 25, 2012, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Lancaster, to the late John and Rose (Graf) Rogers.
She spent her early life in Montfort and Fennimore and was a graduate of Fennimore High School. She was an active teenager, enjoying ice skating and swimming. She had been a lifeguard at Montfort Swimming Pool and played trombone in the high school marching band. After graduating from high school, she went on to attend a year at Platteville State College.
On Jan. 21, 1956, in Fennimore, she married Ronald Kuchenbecker. Following marriage they resided in Fennimore for four years and Lake Geneva for six years, before making their home in Burlington in 1967. Although she suffered two strokes in 1995 and 1996 she remained in good spirits and enjoyed dining out and leisurely rides.
She was an avid reader until macular degeneration curtailed it, but still enjoyed old television shows and playing trivia. She often enjoyed her Wednesday activities at the Chestnut Club Day Care and had a love of cats.
Survivors include her loving husband, Burlington; children, John (Kim) Kuchenbecker, Burlington, Rhonda (Tom) Ebbers, Verona; grandchildren, Alex Ebbers, Milwaukee, Matthew Kuchenbecker, Burlington; Megan Kuchenbecker, Burlington.
Visitation is Monday, July 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery. Memorials have been suggested to the Chestnut Club, 165 W. Chestnut St., Burlington, WI 53105.
