JoAnn Collins, 76, Tomahawk, died January 3, 2012 at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. She was born April 4, 1935, in Monico, to the late Christian and Iva (Singer) Carlson.
She married George Collins on Sept. 11, 1963 in Illinois. He died Jan. 2, 1996.
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Southern Center in Union Grove for 30 years. She was a resident of the Tomahawk area for the past 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, wildlife, and animals – especially birds. She was a member of the Tomahawk Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her children, Susan Tyykila, Tomahawk, Kim Collins, Atwater, Minn., George (Sharon) Collins, Otsego, Minn., Lynn (Marc) Soma. Lindstrom, Minn.; brother, David (Pat) Carlson, Clintonville; nine grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was further preceded in death by her daughter, Kay; grandson, Clint, and son-in-law, Ed.
No services will be held. Krueger Family Funeral Home, Tomahawk, is assisting the family.
