John Edward Walsh died June 19, 2012. He was born in Omaha, Neb. in 1931. He was a lifelong Nebraska football fan.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954, he then attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha with a degree in chemistry. He worked for Wilson Meatpacking, the Food and Drug Administration, and then worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration for 27 years, becoming the Agent-In-Charge of the Milwaukee office before retiring in 1985.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joyce; his five children; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Tom and his family.
Visitation is Saturday, June 23, from 10:30 a.m., until time of memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1975 Beulah Ave., East Troy. Interment is Tuesday, June 26 at 1 p.m., at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St., Union Grove, with full military honors. Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Services, Mukwonago, is serving the family.
