Julian J. Warren, 91, Waterford, died March 5, 2012, at Waterford Senior Living Center.
He was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Burlington, to the late James P. and Elizabeth (David) Warren. He was a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School.
On June 13, 1945, he married Catherine H. Bucheger in Glidden. They made their home in Burlington. She preceded Julian in death in March of 2010.
He spent his life farming. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, as well as belonging to the Catholic Central Round Table and St. Mary’s Finance Committee.
He enjoyed helping out with the maintenance and the grounds upkeep at the St. Mary’s Campus for 15 plus years, and was a member of the Building and Grounds Committee and the Fix-It-Fund. He had also taken great pleasure in being a guardian to St. Theresa’s Chapel in Powers Lake for more than 50 years. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Burlington Consumer COOP Board for 45 years, Tri-State Breeders COOP Board member for 21 years, St. Paul Bank for Cooperatives Advisory Board for two years and was a 20 plus year member of the Bohners Lake Fire Department.
He also enjoyed deer hunting, traveling and playing cards, especially sheepshead.
Survivors include his children, Bruce (Susan) Warren, Sycamore, Ill., Daniel Warren, Burlington, Larry Warren, Denver, Colo., Cindy Warren-James, DeKalb, Ill., Kelly (Debbi) Warren, Wausau, Betsy (Jayce) Redmer, Waterford, Jim (Jill) Warren, Ham Lake, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Teresa Mader, Bernard Bucheger, Robert (Luana) Bucheger, Dorothy Wolf; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his brothers, David and Philip Warren; sister, Eunice Tennessen; daughter-in-law, Joyce Warren, and grandson, Andy Warren.
Visitation is Monday, March 12, from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 6 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Funeral services are Tuesday, March 13, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. James Volkert will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
