Kenneth Virgil Jahns, 71, Burlington, died July 10, 2012, at Aurora Burlington Hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1940, in Burlington, to the late Virgil and Caroline (Baker) Jahns. He was a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of Burlington High School.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1961. On Oct. 27, 1962, he married Diane Krohn.
He worked as a machinist for MICA Tool. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing competitive horseshoes and cards, as well as watching sports and old movies. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife; children, Ken (Ann), Burlington, Kevin (Lynn), Burlington, Mark, Tennessee, Scott, Burlington; grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexander, Matthew, Dustin, Samantha, Jesse, Sydney, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Baylen; siblings, Barb (Billy) Grisham, Donna (John) Hopkins, Ronald (Debby), John (Donna), Linda (John) Potter, Chris (Jerry) Kloepher, Dale (Liz); nieces and nephews.
He was further preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Amy Jahns, and an infant nephew, Kenneth Hopkins.
Visitation is Friday, July 13, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. The Rev. Corrine Denis will officiate. Burial will follow in Quaker Cemetery.
