Lorraine Althea Friend, 85, of Minong, died Oct. 28, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Chicago, to the late Paul and Mae (Sedder) Fuchs.
She married William Friend Dec. 25, 1960. They enjoyed 51 wonderful years together.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Swantz Hardware Store in Union Grove, and retired in 1992 after 29 years of faithful service. She then moved to Minong. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing for her family.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Minong; children, Sharon (Steve) Swanson, Union Grove, Steve Rogers, Union Grove, Bill (Barb) Rogers, Cape Coral, Fla.; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Private family services have been held.
