Lydia Dorothy (Bork) Maerzke, 85, Waterford, died Nov. 30, 2012. She was born Jan. 4, 1927, to the late Richard and Hedwig (Bahr) Bork.
On Sept. 2, 1950, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover, she married the love of her life John Charles Maerzke. He preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2008.
She was devoted member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and a former member of the Third Order of St. Francis in Burlington.
She was a proud homemaker and mom to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to knit and sew.
She was a loving Christian who lived her Catholic faith and is now in heaven with her beloved husband Johnny. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford. Visitation is in church Thursday, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dover following Mass. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
