Mary Catherine Krumrey, 69, of Grayslake, Ill., and formerly a longtime resident of Burlington, died at home
July 21, 2012. She was born in Chicago to the late George and Catherine (Durbin) Scales on Nov. 19, 1942. She was a member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish in Burlington. She worked for Kemper Insurance in Long Grove for nearly 25 years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. She married Eddie Krumrey, whom she married on June 2, 1962, in Grayslake.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years; children, Kathy (Gary) Finley, Rick (Liz) Krumrey, and Michael (Diana) Krumrey; grandchildren, Cassie (Todd) Grubich, Chad, Tina, Sig, Dasha, Alex, Sophia, and Nikolai; great-grandchildren, Emma and Cameron; siblings, Carole Weingart, Betty (Erik) Eriksen, Cecil (Kay) Scales; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Tuesday, July 24, from 4-8 p.m., at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. A brief visitation will continue on Wednesday, July 25, at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, from 9 a.m. until the commencement of funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Private interment will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be made to your favorite charity.
