Michael R. Albee, 60, Marshfield, died May 10, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 15, 1952, in Burlington, to Winston and Ruth (Schuerman) Albee.
He and Elizabeth A. Koller were married on May 24, 1975. They later divorced.
He began employment with the City of Marshfield Street Dept. and later the Parks and Recreation Dept. for 28 years until his retirement in 2010. During the 1990s he owned and operated Albee Concrete.
He spent his early years on the Schuerman family farm which instilled in him the value of hard work and a love for animals and farm life. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, fondness for nicknames and dedication to his family. He had a knack for adding a spark to family gatherings.
Survivors include his children, Nate (Jaime) Albee and their children, Leon and Archer of Minneapolis, Celia Malcolm of Marshfield, Emily (Omar) Barrett of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Ruth (Brian) Henseler of Marshfield; his parents of Burlington; siblings, Mary Kay Tomaske, Sandy (Andy) Edmondson, Connie Bruce, Chuck (Barb) Albee, Barb (Charlie) Obligato, Tom Albee, and Becky (Mike) Monahan.
A celebration of life and memorial service was held May 14 at Wildwood Pavilion. The Rev. Zach Burris officiated. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mike’s childhood home of Lyons, Wisconsin, on the morning of June 30, 2012. Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, is serving the family.
Memorials may be designated in Mike’s name to Wildwood Zoological Society, the Chestnut Avenue Center for the Arts, or the Lucille Tack Center. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com.
