Nella A. Liebzeit, 88, Union Grove, died Jan. 3, 2012, at Oak Ridge Care Center. She was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Jefferson City, to the late George W. and Chloe A. (Curtis) Berkelew.
She spent her early life and received her education in Milton, and then the Washington D.C. area.
On July 2, 1943, she married Earl Liebzeit. Following marriage they resided in Mount Clemens, Mich., and New Haven, Mich., for more than 50 years. She had been a resident of the Burlington area for the past five years. Earl preceded her in death in 1982.
She was a homemaker and a member of both the New Haven Lioness Club and the New Haven United Methodist Church. She enjoyed babies, dogs and reading. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne E. (Betty) Liebzeit, Payson, Ariz., Roy K. (Marie) Liebzeit, Burlington, Jay C. Liebzeit, Mount Clemens; grandchildren, Dixiana, Jackie, Alice, Harold, James; great-grandchildren, Steven, Brianna, Matthew, Rielly, Johnathan and Willow.
She was further preceded in death by her son, Peter Liebzeit, and sister, Dorothy Watts.
Services will be held in Michigan at a later date. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is assisting the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the aides and nurses at Oak Ridge Care Center for all their care and compassion.
