Norman O. Johnson, 91, Town of Norway, died Jan. 21, 2012, at St. Luke’s Medical Center with family at his side.
He was born Aug. 4, 1920, in the Town of Norway on the farm to the late Ole and Josephine (Rolfson) Johnson. He spent his entire life on the farm in the Town of Norway.
On May 18, 1947, at St. Mary’s Dover Parsonage, he married Mildred M. Jacobs.
He was a mechanic most of his life working for Incryco of Milwaukee and Graf’s Garage of Waterford. He was a member of Norway Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the NRA, loved to hunt, and play Old Maid. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years; children, Jane Johnson, Greenfield, Dave Johnson, Oak Creek, Sally (Bob) Hagemann, Burlington, Julie Johnson, Waterford; grandchildren, Abigail, Megan, Katie and Kevin Hagemann, Callia and Laina Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jayce Nelson and Caden Johnson; the last Johnson family cousin, Ginny Smeiska; nephews, Eugene (Julie) Johnson, Carl (Sherrie) Johnson; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd.
Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 26, from 4-8 p.m., and again Friday, Jan. 27, 9:30-10:15 a.m., with services at 10:30 a.m., all at Norway Lutheran Church, 6321 Heg Park Road, Wind Lake. Burial will be in the church cemetery following services. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is assisting the family.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family request donations to Norway Lutheran Church.
