Olive Schumann, 98, died July 17, 2012, at the Pepper Family Hospice in Barrington, Ill. She was born March 16, 1914, in Chicago to the late David and Coral (Peterson) Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William R. Schumann, Jr., in 1988. She resided in Burlington for six years following his death.
She was employed by the Racine County Human Services Department while living in Burlington.
Survivors include her children, Ralph (Barb) Schumann of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; Vivien (Bill) Spence of Cary, Ill.; and Norman (Phyllis) Schumann of Burlington; 12 grandchildren, including Jason Kayser, Jodi (Greg) Bernau, and Kim (Scott) Koski, all of Burlington; 33 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was further preceded in death by brothers, Wilbur and Edwin Nelson; sister, Fay White; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hope Covenant Church in Crystal Lake, Ill., Saturday, July 28.
