Patricia A. Weygand, 87, Burlington, died May 17, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rice Lake, on Jan. 24, 1925, to the late Dr. Arthur and Edna (Swan) Maercklein.
On June 17, 1950, she married the late Winston H. Weygand at Plymouth Congregational Church in Burlington. They raised their two children in the longtime Weygand home on Browns Lake.
A graduate of Columbia School of Nursing, Pat served over 40 years as a nurse at Burlington Memorial Hospital. She was Grandma Pat to all who knew her, including her Hook and Ladder boys from the Burlington Fire Department.
She was an avid reader and animal lover. She also enjoyed the lake, playing cards, chit-chatting with the girls, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Kenneth) Nelson; son, Michael Weygand; grandchildren, Josh (Tiffany) VanDeBogert, Aaron (Adriane) Nelson, Brea (Chris) Didato, and Lisa (Justin) Mushel; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Jude, Elle, Jacob and Reese; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her sisters, Edith and Katherine; brother, Richard and her beloved dog, Sammy.
A celebration of Pat’s life was May 21, at Plymouth Congregational UCC, Burlington. The Rev. Bob Wang officiated. Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, Burlington, assisted the family.
