Robert G. Jay, 82, Burlington, died July 28, 2012, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. He was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Chicago, to the late George W. and Corinne G. (Weber) Jay. He spent his early life and attended school in Chicago.
On April 14, 1956 in Burlington, he married Marjorie Y. Adams. Following marriage they made their home in Wheatland Township.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for 33 ½ years for R.W. Miller & Sons Inc. He was also a farmer and a member of Plymouth Congregational UCC in Burlington.
Survivors include his wife; children, Nancy G. (William) Knotwell and William R. Jay; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his sister, Joan C. Jay.
Visitation is Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Chaplain Lawrence Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Plymouth Congregational Church, the Wheatland Fire Department or to the Twin Lakes Rescue Department are suggested.
