Robert W. ‘Bob’ Weltzien, 78, Burlington, died at his home on Dec. 29, 2011. He was born May 16, 1933, in Big Bend, to the late Walter and Ella Kate (Neumann) Weltzien.
He spent his early life in Tichigan where he attended Washington Caldwell Graded School and graduated from Rochester Ag School.
On Oct. 6, 1956, he married Sandra M. Geurin at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Waterford. They lived in Waukesha for a few years and then in Tichigan for some time. For the past 25 years they had resided in Burlington.
He was an auto salesman and manager most of his working life. He was a current member of Norway Lutheran Church, Wind Lake. He liked to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing, trapping and playing softball and baseball.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years; daughters, Teryl (Bruce) Bramow, Racine, Rae Lynn Weltzien, Burlington, Nicole Burmeister, Eagle River; grandchildren, Abbie and Austin; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael Burmeister; nephew, Robbie Grobowski; and niece, Stacie Inman.
Visitation is Wednesday, Jan. 4, from noon to 1:45 p.m., followed by services at 2 p.m., at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St., Waterford. The Rev. Kristie Jaramillo will officiate. Burial will follow in Norway Hill Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
