Thelma F. Brehm, 74, Burlington, died April 24, 2012, at Kindred Nursing & Rehab. She was born Oct. 4, 1937, to the late Walter and Lucille (Neumeg) Albrecht. She spent her early life in Antigo and was a graduate of Antigo High School.
On June 6, 1959, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington, she married William “Bill” Brehm. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington.
She had worked for Southern Colony and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She volunteered with the Special Olympics, coaching track as well as helping out with various other activities. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed playing slots and fishing, spending time with family and friends at her home on Lake Venus, hummingbirds and her cats and dogs.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years; children, David (Lisa), Doug (Kim), Linda Brehm, all Burlington; grandchildren, Jenny, Tyler, Serra and Shawn; siblings, Walt (Alice) Albrecht, Everett Albrecht, Deanie (Wayne) Jarvis and Sandy (Mike) Holup; sister-in-law, Betty (Monty) Spiegelhoff; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her daughter, Louann Brehm; grandson, Jacob Brehm; sister-in-law, Judy Brehm; and brother-in-law, Bob Brehm.
Visitation is Monday, April 30, from 4 p.m., until time of services at 7 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. The Rev. Robert Kacalo will officiate. Private burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery at a later date. Memorials to the Special Olympics are suggested.
