Victor Terry, 93, died May 22, 2012, at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, Calif. He was born in Burlington to the late Harry and Leona (Pieters) Terry.
He served in the U.S. Marines for four years during World War II. He married Gloria Grossman at St. Charles Church Feb. 6, 1954. He retired from Godfrey Company in 1985 and enjoyed his retirement years in Burlington until 2009 when he and his wife relocated to Oceanside, Calif., to be close to his family.
He was a sport enthusiast and had a lifelong passion for baseball and in his youth played minor league baseball with the Eau Claire Bears of the Northern League.
He was an ardent Wisconsin sports fan all his life and even after his move to the San Diego area continued to follow his beloved Badgers, Packers and Brewers with great enthusiasm.
Survivors include his wife; children, Michael Terry (Gail) Encinitas, Calif., Scott Terry (Maureen), Orlando, Fla., Patricia Baldus (Alan) Carlsbad, Calif.; grandchildren, Ryan Baldus, Sean Baldus, Devan Terry, Dana Terry; sister, Connie Kramer; nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled at the Church of St. Thomas More, Oceanside, Calif., and Miramar National Cemetery on June 8.
