Douglas G. Schweitzer, 67, Lodi, died Oct. 1, 2013, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born May 30, 1946, in Waterford, to the late Milton and Rita Schweitzer. He spent most of his life in Waterford, graduating from Waterford Union High School.
On Jan. 9, 1981, he married the love of his life, Barbara, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Waterford. Eleven years ago, he and Barbara moved to Lodi.
He was a very hard worker, owning his own business, Schweitzer Systems Inc. He loved his family, his company, gardening, arts and crafts, business travel with Barbara and his dogs, Bubba and Curly Sue.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; daughters, Dee (Ross Kruger) Fladwood; Michelle (Todd) Kramer; son, Aaron Schweitzer; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brothers, Jerry (Connie) Schweitzer, Curtis Schweitzer, Steve (Kim) Schweitzer; sisters, Mary (Lenny) Anderson, Julie Schweitzer; nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his father, and his beloved dogs, Bubba and Curly Sue.
A memorial gathering is Saturday, Oct. 5, from 1 p.m., until time of memorial service at 3 p.m., at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St., Waterford.
