Alice B. Douglas, 92, Burlington, died Aug. 7, 2013, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Harpers Ferry, Iowa, to the late William and Mary Elizabeth (Broderick) Finnegan.
On Jan. 7, 1944, she married Colas Edmund ‘Doug’ Douglas in Des Moines, Iowa, at St. John’s Catholic Church, where they began their married life. They lived in McGregor and Charles City, Iowa, before coming to Wisconsin where they lived in Oregon and Burlington for more than 50 years. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2007.
She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church where she managed the lunch program for more than 25 years. She loved her family and friends and was always involved in church activities which she really enjoyed.
Survivors include her three sons, James (Lori) Douglas, West Palm Beach, Fla., Michael (Pamela) Douglas, Atlanta, Ga., Patrick (Pamela) Douglas, Bonita Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Julie (Ray) Farrell, Brian (Tess) Douglas, Lindy Douglas, Karen (Jessica) Douglas, Kelly Douglas, Luke (Darlene) Douglas, Meredith (Jeff) McMurtrie, William (Macaire) Douglas; great-grandchildren, Eyan Douglas, Quinn Farrell, Reese Douglas; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her brothers, Robert (Marie) Finnegan and Norbert (Helena) Finnegan; sister, Geraldine Sedlack; brother-in-law, Basil; and sister-in-law, Fern Hinzman.
Visitation is Friday, Aug. 9, from 4 p.m. until time of funeral Mass at 6 p.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Steve Amann will officiate. Private burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Charles Church, in memory of Alice would be appreciated.
