Barbara J. Ried, 82, Waterford, died peacefully on Aug. 29, 2013. She was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Eagle, to the late Edward and Bessie (Halverson) Pease. She spent her early life in Waukesha and Pewaukee.
She worked as a CNA for many years and also as a waitress. She was a current member of East Troy Bible Church and in her younger days taught Bible school.
She loved her birds and flowers and cheering for the Packers on Sundays. She was simply a great mother and grandmother who loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherry (Steve) Chariton, Medford, Kim (Bill) Pieters, Burlington; grandchildren, Shawn (Brittany) Chariton, Medford, Shannon (Chris) Ehrhardt, Hastings, Minn., Sarah (Corey) Waskow, Billings, Mont., Sabrina (Josh) Martin, Burlington; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Issaac Ehrhardt, Corin, Adeline, Peyton, Toby, Jubilee Waskow, Jed, Jax Martin; her sisters, Betty Stark and Bonnie (Carl) Riola; sister-in-law, Lois Pease; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Ried; and brothers, George and Jack Pease.
Services will be held at East Troy Bible Church on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 12:30 p.m. A memorial gathering in church prior to services is from 10:30 a.m., to 12:30 p.m. Private inurnment will be held. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials to East Troy Bible Church. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
