Betty J. Tschudy, 80, Burlington, died Jan. 11, 2013, at Aurora Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1932, to the late Edward and Ida (Turtenwald) Packel in Milwaukee. Her early life was spent in Milwaukee where she graduated from Juneau High School.
On May 2, 1953, she married Wayne Tschudy in Milwaukee. Following their marriage they resided in Pewaukee. When they retired they moved to Rio Rancho, N.M., for 21 years, then relocated back to Burlington, the past 2-1/2 years, to be with their family.
She was a member of T.O.P.S. and various Lutheran Churches. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking and cooking. She was an avid reader and an avid shopper; she could never pass up a “good deal.” Most of all she treasured spending time with her family. She was always there to support them and was their most devoted cheerleader.
Survivors include her husband Wayne; son, Tim (Dawn) Tschudy; daughter, Sandi (Dave) Bruni; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob and Jonathan Tschudy, Megan and Shawn Bruni; siblings, Jean Packel, Ed (Shirley) Kurth, Roger (Nancy) Kurth, Marsha (Ron) Dragen, Sharon (Sid) Braun and Phyllis Kurth.
She was further preceded in death by her brothers, Mel and Eddie, and sister, Evelyn.
Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 19, from 3 p.m. until time of memorial service, at 4 p.m., at Veterans Terrace at Echo Park, Burlington. The Rev. Edmond Kurth will officiate. Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at Burlington Hospital, the Hospice nurses and all the friends and family, who supported them, while at the hospital.
