Cornelia J., ‘Connie’ (Kolakowski) Roberts, 81, Waterford, died March 14, 2013, at St. Luke’s Medical Center. She was born March 19, 1931, to the late Leo and Susan Kolakowski in Milwaukee. She spent her early life in Milwaukee, where she was class valedictorian at The Girls Trade and Technical School.
It was while living in Milwaukee that she met and fell in love with her future husband, Joseph Roberts. They were married July 31, 1966, in Milwaukee. After marriage, they moved to Waterford where Connie worked for 25 years as a librarian for the Waterford Public Library. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening, bowling and bingo.
Survivors include her children, Tonia Badie, Waterford, Jeffrey Roberts, St. Francis; grandson, Chris Bierman; her brother, Eugene (Carol) Kolakowski, Santa Barbara, Calif.; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her husband: sisters, Beatrice Adamczyk and Geraldine Pyne; brothers-in-law, Ed Adamczyk and Gerald Pyne.
Mass will be held on March 22, at 11 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford. A memorial gathering will be held prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m. Inurnment is at 1 p.m., at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St. (Hwy. C), Union Grove. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.
