Effie C. Mohr, Waterford, 102, died Dec. 31, 2012, at Village at Manor Park. She was born May 12, 1910, in Viroqua, to the late Mathias and Betsy (Rudser) Pederson.
On Jan. 9, 1937, she married the love of her life Bauer Mohr in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She took night classes at UW-Milwaukee and worked as bookkeeper and manager of Eva Caroline Laundry before she began her life as a mother and homemaker. She loved and cherished her family. She was an active member of the Community United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to travel, spending months in Florida and California. She was a Packer, Brewer and golf fan.
Survivors include her children, Sandra (George) Robak, Greenfield, Atty. Robert (Susan) Mohr, Apollo Beach, Fla., Judge James (Sarah) Mohr, Eagle River, and Dr. Thomas (Pamela) Mohr, Pleasantville, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Albon and Orris Pederson, both Viroqua, and Gladys Deblitz, Milwaukee.
She was further preceded in death by brothers. Oscar, Eddie (Effie’s twin), Ray; sister, Marie and grandson, Matthew.
Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 5, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at noon at Community United Methodist Church, 455 S. Jefferson St., Waterford. The Rev. John Wulz will officiate. Burial will be at German Settlement Cemetery, Township of Spring Prairie. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is assisting the family.
