Elaine R. Kendall, 88, Burlington, died Aug. 15, 2013, at Kindred Nursing & Rehab.
She was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Chicago, to the late Joseph G. and Eleanor (Hansen) Napoleon.
On Aug. 26, 1944, in Chicago, she married Wilmer Richmond Kendall. They lived in Chicago for three years, Burlington for 26 years and Wausau for 25 years before moving back to Burlington in 1998. He preceded her in death July 29, 1997.
She was a homemaker who kept herself busy with various activities. She was a member of Eastern Star, Burlington United Methodist Church, volunteered with Burlington Chamber of Commerce, and was a founding member of Forked Rivers Sweet Adelines, Inc. of Burlington. She loved to play cards, go camping and sing in the church choir. She and Wilmer owned and operated the Cedar Park Grocery Store for 11 years.
Survivors include her children, Patricia L. Kendall, Burlington, James R. (Marcia) Kendall, Burlington, Carol J. (Kevin) Brierly, Burlington, Richard J. (Linda) Kendall, Reedsburg; grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Brierly, Benjamin (Kelly) Brierly, Andrew Brierly, Nancy (Robert) Conley, Becky Albert, Lindy (Joseph) Conley, and Seth Laehn; great-grandchildren, Kasey Brierly, Joshua Manuell, Cassie Manuell, Peter Albert, Cody and Christopher Conley, Remi, Raegan and Ryah Conley; and great-great-grandchildren, Adiana and Isabella Manuell; other relatives and many friends. Visitation is Saturday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m., until time of services at noon at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. The Rev. Ebenezer Insor will officiate. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery.
