Elizabeth “Bette” Pihringer, 81, of Nesbit, Miss., formerly Burlington, died Dec. 10.
Born in New Munster, Nov. 8, 1932, she was the daughter of Francis M. and Mary J. (Kerkhoff) Hunsbusher. She spent her early life in New Munster and Burlington graduating from St. Mary’s High School.
On Aug. 12, 1970, in Rome, Italy, she was united in marriage to Kenneth F. Pihringer. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Ken preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2000.
Bette was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Alan (Trisha) Pihringer of Nesbit, Miss.; grandchildren, Kyle and Kenzie Pihringer; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Hunsbusher, Lou Luetten, Carol Pihringer and brother-in-law, Jim Pihringer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Richard Hunsbusher and Kenny Hunsbusher; brother-in-law, Ralph Luetten and sister-in-law, Shirley Hunsbusher.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. Charles Catholic Church are suggested.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m. at St. Charles Church. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 4-6 p.m. Burial will be Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.
