Ellen R Fenner, 65, Alexandria, Va., died May 18, 2013, at Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center in Arlington, Va. She was born Jan. 1, 1948, in Burlington, to the late Robert and Pauline (Kurt) Smith. She was a graduate of Burlington High School.
She lived overseas while raising her family in Israel, Germany, Senegal and Denmark. She retired from USDA Products Laboratory in Madison. She enjoyed fishing, camping traveling and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Kim (Tom) Burgess, Stephens City, Va., Kelly (Craig) Whitmore, Quantico, Va., Scott (Amber) Fenner, West Wareham, Mass.; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Caroline, Meghan and Scott Burgess, Ellen and Cory Whitmore, Carter and Jackson Fenner; her sister, Pat Lawrence, Burlington; nieces and nephews.
She was further preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John Lawrence.
Visitation with family is Saturday, Aug. 31, from 9 a.m., until time of funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St Charles Church, Burlington. The Rev. Steve Amann will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Charles Cemetery. Cremation Services of Virginia served the family.
