Enid E. Spaight, 89, Burlington, died July 29, 2013 at the Zilber Family Hospice Center in Wauwatosa. She was born May 5, 1924, to the late Robert and Florence (Goetsch) Olson in Racine. She attended East Cape Graded School and graduated from Waterford High School.
On Sept. 20, 1947, she married the late Colin Spaight. Together they once owned and operated the Dover Inn. She lived in many areas before calling Burlington her home.
She proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and participated in the Honor Flight in November 2011.
Survivors include her son, Kevin (Maria) Spaight; brothers and sisters-in law; nieces; nephews; many friends in Racine County and Prairie Du Chien. She will also be dearly missed by her buddy Brody the Irish Terrier.
She was further preceded in death by two brothers, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
Enid has suggested memorials be made to National Humane Society, The Nature Conservancy Wisconsin Chapter, Union Grove Library or any charity of your choice.
