Kathleen M. Banta, 91, Burlington, formerly Richland County, died June 26, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 6, 1921, in Richland County, to the late Logan and Mary Beatty, and was one of 13 children.
She married David Banta May 9, 1941. He preceded her in death. She lived in Richland Center, Hub city area, Germantown, White School area, Cazenovia, Kansasville, and finally settled in Burlington where she owned two successful restaurants before working at Foster Forbes glass factory before retiring.
Throughout her life she was an avid homemaker, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She donated many knitted hats and scarves to Walworth County for underprivileged children.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (Laurie), Kenosha, Daniel (Beverly), Las Vegas, John, Orrich, Mo., and Tom (Marianne), Kenniwick, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother.
She was further preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a grandson.
A private celebration of life with family was held July 3, in Richland Center. Pratt Funeral Home, Richland Center, served the family.
