Kenneth ‘Ken’ Byron Dahlke, 72, Crystal Lake, Iowa, died Oct. 27, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on June 2, 1941, to the late Everett and Mary (Kostritza) Dahlke in Milwaukee. His early life was spent in Milwaukee. He relocated to Colorado, then back to Wisconsin before settling in Crystal Lake.
He worked at Coors in Colorado where he met his wife Patricia Ann (Sewolt) Dahlke. Then later moved to Wisconsin where he worked at Saint Gobain until he retired. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandpa, and brother. He was known by his grandkids as a Grumpa whose heart was full of love.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years; children, Wendy (James) Mendenhall, Wayne (Theresa) Dahlke, Crystal (Will) McFadden, and Tiffany (Greg) Giebel; siblings, Arnold (Lesli) Dahlke and Dorothy Wolter; grandchildren, Jacob 24, Leanne 16, Melody 15, Liam 10, Samantha 9, Connor 8, Savanah 7, and Rusty 5.
He was further preceded in death by his nephew, Terry Strutz.
A memorial gathering will be held at a future date and time. Ewing Funeral Chapel, Britt, Iowa, is serving the family.
