Kenneth J. Lois, 81, of Burlington, died Aug. 20, 2013, at his home.
He was born May 2, 1932, to the late Joseph and Regina (Weber) Lois. He spent his early life in New Munster where he attended St. Alphonsus School and graduated from Wilmot High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.
On June 2, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church he married Joyce E. Rahberger. They lived in Burlington their entire marriage where they attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on June 6, 2013.
He worked for Burlington Wholesale Foods, was a member of VFW Post 2823 and was a retired volunteer firefighter. He loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed spending time at his cabin up north. He was an avid Packer and Brewers fan.
Survivors include his children, Patricia (Jeffrey) Lofy, Sparks, Nev., Keith (Colleen) Lois, Brian (Corrie) Lois, all Burlington; grandchildren, Christopher (Kirsten) Lofy, Carrie (fiancé, Dave Held) Lois, Kylie Lois, Kelly Lois, Leslie Lois and Jennifer Lois: great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Kaden Lofy; siblings, Anita (John) Nemath, Janet (Bob) Uhen, Verena (Jim) Schaffer, Marie (Harold) Boulden, Jerome (Noreen) Lois; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was further preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Lois; brother, Richard Lois; sister, Mercedes Woyak.
Services are Saturday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Brian Holbus officiating. Visitation is Friday, Aug. 23, from 4-7 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery following the service.
