Mary A. Grube, 94, Burlington, died Jan. 13, 2013, at East Troy Manor. She was born in Chicago on Sept. 10, 1918, to the late Alexander and Mary (Gozdziewicz) Cerepa. She spent her early life and received her education in Chicago.
On Aug. 30, 1941, at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Chicago, she married Clifford Grube. They resided in Chicago following marriage and later moved to Niles, Ill., where they were residents for 40 years. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2000.
She had spent the last 12 years in Burlington and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved cooking, gardening and watching football.
Survivors include her loving children, Gregory Grube, Laura Thomas, both Genoa City, Karen (James) Braden, Burlington; grandchildren, Joseph (Kellanna) Glasby V and Brian Aleckson; great-grandchildren, Joseph Glasby VI and Madelyn Glasby; siblings, Gerald (Lola) Cerepa, Annie Cullis, both Calif., and Winni Andrews, Fla.; and by an aunt, Florence Brzezinski, Chicago.
She was further preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kristin Aleckson; siblings, Stella Franks, Philip (Nancy) Cerepa, John (Joyce) Cerepa, Violet (Bud) Louis, Richard Cerepa and Alex Cerepa Jr.; brothers-in-law, John Cullis and Ralph Andrews; and stepmother, Monica Cerepa.
Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 17, from 5-8 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Family Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Funeral services are Friday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. James Volkert will officiate. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Ill.
