Mary E. Foley, 90, Burlington, died May 29, 2013, at Geneva Lake Manor. She was born March 23, 1923, in Trenton, Mo., to the late James H. and Eva (Mapes) Holcomb. She spent her early life in Trenton, and was a graduate of Trenton High School and Trenton Junior College.
On April 10, 1947, in Kansas City, she married Frank L. Foley. Following marriage they resided in Wisconsin and had been residents of the Burlington area since 1947. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1986.
She worked as a secretary for the Teacher’s College in Union Grove. She enjoyed watching soap operas, traveling and doing crossword puzzles. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Jim) Hurst, Maureen (Dieter) Klug, Marsha (Steven) Stoner, all Burlington; grandchildren, Mike (Wendy) Hurst, Michelle (Matt) D’Attilio, Joshua (Jennifer), Joe and Jesse Hurst, Kimberly (Brett) Nicol, Amanda (Alan) Doers, and Randy and Dane Stoner; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Megan Hurst, Benjamin and Sophia D’Attilio, Jackson Hurst, Emily and Jackson Nicol, Grayson and Hudson Doers and Milo Stoner; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her brother, James Holcomb.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15, at noon at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on June 22, from 10 a.m., until time of service.
Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Hospice Advantage are suggested.
