Nancy J. Krien, 73, Burlington, died Aug. 27, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Burlington, on Sept. 24, 1939, to the late James McCarthy and Margaret (Wilkins) Flatley. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from St. Mary’s High.
On Aug. 1, 1959, she married Paul Michael Krien Sr., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She spent her entire life in Burlington and worked as a CNA for Southern Wisconsin Center.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games and cards with her grandchildren and visiting with her friends. She also enjoyed visiting casinos to play slots while traveling to the Necedah area with her husband.
Survivors include her husband; children, Paul (Linda) Krien Jr., Kansasville, Michelle (James) Machalik, Waterford, Robert (Geri) Krien, Burlington, Patrick (Holly) Krien, Franksville, Korrine (Jack) Storck, Kansasville; grandchildren, Kyle and Marcus Krien, Tyler and Kelsey Machalik, Ryne, Samantha and Savannah Storck, Austin and Mitchell Krien, Chad Hensiak, Denise (Jim) Falaschi, Melanie (Justin) Jensen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marilyn (James) Rueter, Pat (Gene Hafferman) Kranz; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and friends.
She was further preceded in death by her infant daughter, Kimberly Ann; brother, James P. McCarthy; and sister, Barbara McCarthy.

Per Nancy’s request, her body has been donated to medical science and a private family service will be held at a later date. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, served the family.
