Norbert J. Nitka, 85, Waterford, died July 3, 2013, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee.
He was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Green Bay, to the late Frank and Verna (Krerowicz) Nitka. He lived his early life in Green Bay where he attended school before going onto University of Wisconsin–Madison where he earned his bachelor of science in applied math and mechanics.
On May 29, 1954, he married Marilyn Arlene Noll at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Burlington, where they had remained members.
He was employed as an engineer of hydraulic control systems for Oilgear Co. He was a M.E.N.S.A. member. He served in the Army/Air Force from 1946 to 1949.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years; sons, David (Rebecca Wong) Nitka, Daniel Nitka; his brother, Frank (Jackie) Nitka; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his sister, Mary (Robert) Younkle.
Memorials to The Salvation Army, 248 S. Pine St., Burlington, WI 53105, are suggested.
