Richard A. Robertson, 75, Burlington, died April 7, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 19, 1937, to the late Howard F. and Anne (Becker) Robertson in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He was a member of the Nutley High School rowing team, the Barbershop Octet group and the 1955 New Jersey All State Choir.
He was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in mechanical engineering, later earning his MBA from the University of Chicago.
He proudly served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1961 to 1963.
He retired as a Regional Quality Control Manager after 40 plus years working for Consolidated Containers.
He was a family-oriented spiritual man, whose faith was very important to him. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed singing, reading, cooking and traveling.
Survivors include his current wife Bee Itzenheiser; son, Doug and daughter, Karen, and their mother Carol. He is also survived by children, Deanna (Bob), Jerry (Mary), Dale (Luerene), Tina (Bruce), Sue (Geoff), Tim (Heidi); daughter-in-law, Debbie; grandchildren, Nikki (Andrew), Kristi (Mike), Jacob, Joe, Justin, Jamie, Josh, Shatara, Hayes, Savannah, Ian, Hadley, Raegen (Cullen), Hayden, Hudson; great-grandchildren, Aubryn, Serriah, Kade, Camden, Braxton, Gracie, Acheron and Brenner; his sister, Betty (Hector); nephew, Andrew (Viry) and family; his fraternity brothers; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Saturday, April 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday at 1 p.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church, Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested so that a donation can be made to Dick’s favorite charity.
